Default Guild Wars Guide Part 2

Dissapointed here. Was expecting a conversation and discussion about how to solve the problem of the community elites acting like snots. Players unable to play pvp due to elitism and the constant scamming. Instead the topic gets locked.

So hopefully back on topic. Unless this is also deemed unfit to talk about?

Ignoring the argument that if player x wants to sell to player y at that price. It's fine. If that's fine. Then I'll just take some of the antiques from a relative of mine for a 1/8 of the real price because shes not aware of the price for them.

I've noticed alot of people. Moslty children who play this game completley lacking in morales. Example "lol I got it off a noob for like 5k he didn't know the value". Due to no monthly fee all the kids have got into this game and its destroying it from within. Anybody else agree with that?

The only time I was in HA was during the double fame weekend. Thats because I knew there were going to be many like me that are new to HA and would find a group.
But now that the weekend isnt there anymore I havent got to HA because I know that there is too much elitism and I wouldnt get a group because I dont have a rank. I liked HA quite much but the elitism has scared me away from HA.
I have heard a few that accepts non ranked but the majority is still those seeking r6+ or something. And I don't like Vimway or Iway so that makes it so much harder too.

Nice to see Sinican and Anryla are discussing about this rather than criticising me for bringing it up.

I want to get into HA but im never going to get the chance and I'm obviously not alone as no group will give anybody a chance.

theres a big difference between labeling "a guide"

"Guild Wars Guide" vs "Scamming Guide"

Context is everything

Guild Wars Guide, labled as such, is nothing but a put down

I wont criticize for bringing it up. But considering the first "guide" was closed, the mod that closed it probably wouldn't appreciate you making another one.....

Reopening a closed thread is not permitted, expect this to be locked as well. And this is no "guide"

Your other thread was bitter and cynical and not even accurate or fair.

My other thread was tongue in cheek. Which seems to have gone straight above the majority of you. Who would rather take offense and brush off any negative discussion over the game you love.

This is, unfortunately, irrelevant, as the content of the post was provocative beyond limits. It was closed as it served no more than flame fodder.

One of the biggest problems of PvP elitism, aside from PuG group ranking, is simple lack of player cohesion. I could care less about rank, and I've played with people who are practically unranked and done well... the real problem is how easily newer players can make contacts among the pvp community and become integrated with them, in order to gain practice and develop them as pvpers.

The two major areas of elitism are among pug groups (rank discrimination) and cohesive teams (rank aside, they won't neccesarily play with a random person). Cohesive teams are more fun, generally more capable, and quite often rank-ignoring (I've been let in r9+ groups at r3 simply because I know people), the problem, as I mentioned, is the ease of making connections is difficult in the PvP world.

Well now with you 3 on the same page, you can start your own group, and invite people regardless of rank. Maybe it will start a trend, and people will enjoy HA more.

It's true, and it's a known problem. I'm assuming it's even more noticable to you coming from Eve. Why not join a like-minded guild? There are mature people playing this game...you never see them, though, because they probably have Local turned off and talk only with their guild.

Don't let some preteen ruin your fun.

edit: I see you're already in a guild...so, what's the problem?

Its an old guild. I played over a year ago and started to notice eliteism and the kids. So I left. I came back after a year when a friend of mine started to play. Got back into it and then noticed how bad things had got with those two problems. Also that clan is no longer active.

Buying low and selling high is not a bannable offense. And in real life it is not illegal either. I have and will continue to buy stuff cheaply and sell for more in game and in real life

Yes but you could do the decent thing and tell that person what the item is worth or take it for a value that would be considered fair in buying low and selling high.
Whenever you say your intrested in an item. The first thing when somebody has that item and intrested in selling it is. "Offer". To get the utmost money out of somebody. Followed by making an extortionate price than dropping it make it look fair.

"this whine deserves a cheeseboard, sorry babael, i dont wish to offend but all your issues have been dealt with ad nauseam before."

I don't mean any offense to pick your post but I simple didn't understand the point you were trying to put across to me. Something about cheeseboards and nauseam?

Your thread was closed... so you open another one and continue. You last thread was flame fest, so it this one.

You really shouldn't repost threads that have been closed.
